Founded in 2020, IEC is a student-led community located in JKUAT, Kenya. We offer the Innovation Track, Entrepreneurship Track, Technology Track, and Leadership Program, providing a holistic education that blends technical rigor with business values. We are dedicated to raising future leaders with strong character, technical excellence, and a global outlook, prepared to make a positive impact in the world.

What We Do

Innovation Challenges & Hackathons

We organize regular hackathons and innovation challenges that bring together students from different disciplines to solve real-world problems. These events foster creativity, teamwork, and rapid prototyping skills while covering diverse themes including fintech, healthtech, agritech, and social impact solutions. We provide mentorship from industry experts, access to cutting-edge tools, and opportunities to present solutions to potential investors and employers.

Collaborative Projects & Startups

Members collaborate on long-term projects that span software development, hardware innovation, and startup ventures in a structured environment with cross-functional teams. We support project teams with workspace access, technical equipment, funding opportunities, and connections to industry partners through our project incubation program that helps promising ideas transition from concept to market-ready solutions.

Mentorship & Professional Development

We connect students with industry professionals, successful entrepreneurs, and alumni who provide guidance on career development, technical skills, and business acumen through one-on-one sessions, group workshops, and networking events. Our program focuses on developing leadership capabilities, communication skills, and entrepreneurial mindset while building valuable professional relationships within our extensive alumni network.
