Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the JKUAT Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club website and services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

2. Membership Eligibility

Membership in the JKUAT Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club is open to:

• Currently enrolled students at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT)
• Students in good academic standing
• Individuals who agree to abide by the club's constitution and these terms

3. Member Responsibilities

As a member, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information during registration
• Pay membership fees on time
• Respect other members and maintain professional conduct
• Follow club rules and guidelines during events and activities
• Protect confidential information shared within the club
• Use club resources responsibly
• Represent the club positively in all interactions

4. Code of Conduct

All members must adhere to the following code of conduct:

• Respect: Treat all members, guests, and university staff with respect
• Integrity: Act honestly and ethically in all club-related activities
• Collaboration: Work constructively with others and support team efforts
• Innovation: Encourage creative thinking and problem-solving
• Professionalism: Maintain appropriate behavior in all club settings

5. Events and Activities

Participation

Participation in club events is voluntary. Some events may have additional requirements, fees, or registration processes. Members are expected to register for events in advance when required.

Liability

The club is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during events or activities. Participants engage in activities at their own risk.

Event Conduct

Disruptive behavior, harassment, or violation of event rules may result in removal from the event and potential suspension from the club.

6. Intellectual Property

Club Content

All content on the club website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of the JKUAT Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club or its licensors and is protected by copyright laws.

Member Contributions

By submitting content (projects, ideas, presentations) to the club, you grant the club a non-exclusive license to use, display, and promote such content for club purposes, while retaining your ownership rights.

Project Ownership

Members retain ownership of their individual projects and innovations. However, collaborative projects may be subject to separate agreements among participants.

7. Payments and Refunds

Membership Fees

Membership fees are charged per semester and must be paid to maintain active membership status. Fees are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances as determined by the club executive committee.

Event Fees

Some events may require additional fees. Refund policies for event fees will be communicated at the time of registration.

Merchandise

Merchandise sales are final. Exchanges may be considered for defective items within 7 days of purchase.

8. Website Usage

You agree not to:

• Use the website for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website
• Upload or transmit viruses or malicious code
• Interfere with the website's operation or security
• Collect or harvest information about other users
• Use automated systems to access the website

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

10. Suspension and Termination

Grounds for Suspension

Membership may be suspended or terminated for:

• Violation of these terms of use
• Breach of the club's code of conduct
• Non-payment of membership fees
• Academic probation or disciplinary action by the university
• Behavior that damages the club's reputation

Appeal Process

Members facing suspension or termination have the right to appeal the decision to the club's executive committee within 14 days of notification.

11. Limitation of Liability

The JKUAT Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club, its officers, and members shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of club services or participation in club activities.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Kenyan courts.
